Common questions

When does an organizer get paid?

Funds are released to the organizer about 12 hours after the event starts. They then transfer to the organizer's bank, which usually takes a further 1–3 business days.

How do refunds work?

You can cancel for a refund up until the event's refund deadline, which is shown before you pay. Refunds cover the ticket price; the service fee isn't returned. If an event is cancelled, or it doesn't reach its minimum number of attendees, everyone who paid is refunded automatically. Organizers can also refund someone individually up until the event's funds are paid out to them (about 12 hours after it starts) — so if something comes up after the deadline, ask them before then.

I was charged but my event was cancelled.

Refunds are issued automatically when an event is cancelled — no need to ask. They appear in your Transaction History in the app, and take a few business days to reach your card. If it's been longer than that, email us.

When is my card charged?

Usually the moment you RSVP. Two things can delay it: the organizer may set a lock-in date for the event, in which case your card is charged then; or if the event is more than 90 days away, your card is charged 90 days before it starts. In both cases we save your card rather than charging it, and the exact date is shown before you confirm. Cancelling before the charge is always free.

Why would an organizer set a lock-in date?

Because they're often paying for something up front — a venue deposit, a rental, a booking — and need to know the group is real before they commit their own money. A lock-in date is when the plan becomes final: cards are charged, and the organizer can choose whether backing out is still possible after that. They can also require a minimum number of attendees, in which case the event is cancelled and nobody is charged if it isn't reached.

How do I delete my account?

In the app: Profile → Settings → Delete Account. If you have money in flight — an upcoming paid event, or funds not yet paid out — settle that first, or email us and we'll help.

Reporting someone, or something you've seen

Every profile, event, group and message has a report option in the app. Reports reach us directly. You can also block someone from their profile, which hides their content from you and stops them contacting you.
